I studied architecture at Southern Technical Institute in Marietta, GA.
Joined the Air Force Reserves and was called to active duty to serve 2 years.
Afterwards, I worked for an architectural firm as a draftsman in Marietta and later as a draftsman for another firm "Jacobs
and Mathews Architectural Firm" in Gainesville, GA. From Gainesville, then moved to Toccoa, GA
to work for "Bowen and Watson", a commercial contracting firm, as a
superintendent building elementary and high schools. Eventually I went out
on my own building houses and light commercial buildings. My dad and I
started a well drilling business in 1973 which started out as part time for me,
but then ended up as full time. I kept my design of houses and light commercial
going on at night during this time. 15 years ago, I left the well drilling
business to pursue my dream of owning my own designing business. I work
with many builders in surrounding counties to satisfy customers. Most of
my design work is rustic homes on surrounding lakes. 60% of my work is
re-model jobs, outside hardscapes, boat houses, or any other area a client needs
help. The other 40% is working drawings for an entire house or commercial
structure. I also consult with builders and owners during the building process.
All of my work from colored renderings, to conceptuals, to working drawings, is
done by hand on a drawing board.
